The
island is 12 kilometers long
and 9 kilometers wide. There
is only one large
settlement: Hora
(Skiathos Town) and ~5,000
residents. The main
road is 14 kilometers long and connects Skiathos Town to the well-known
Koukounaries beach.
Skiathos has everything... high bleached white cliffs, fine golden sand
beaches backed by pine forests; water sports, scuba diving, elegant
and cosmopolitan nightlife... all at under the best Mediterranean
weather.
During
your stay, try day trips to the rest of North Sporades islands Skopelos
and
Alonissos. Last but not least - visit the
famous marine park of Northern Sporades the 'home' of the
Mediterranean seal (Monachus Monachus). |
